Motorola Moto G

For some people, saving a few dollars a month is a New Year’s resolution that is important to keep. But saving money shouldn’t mean the only choices for wireless phones are basic phones. The Moto G is an option for those looking to save while still rocking a stylish and feature-filled smartphone. Available online from Verizon Wireless beginning on Jan. 9 and in stores in the coming weeks, the Moto G helps create an affordable package with its $99.99 price and wallet-friendly prepaid plan options that start at $60 per month for unlimited talk, unlimited text and 2 GB of data. Users can upgrade to 4 GB of data for an additional $10 per month.

Having a smartphone like the Moto G can lead to additional savings when apps like Groupon and LivingSocial are used to save on restaurants, gym memberships, events and more. Smartphones can also act as tools to help you stay on top of expenses and budgets; the app Money Manager Expense & Budget helps with that by recording deposits and withdrawals and showing budgets and expenses through graphs.

The Moto G comes with a 4.5-inch HD display, 5-megapixel camera and the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor so users get the full smartphone experience while saving every month. Additionally, users get 50 GB of Google Drive storage for two years, as long as the offer is redeemed within 30 days of activation. The Moto G will launch with Android 4.3 and will be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat in the near future.

If You Got a DROID Smartphone, Explore the features of your new device

DROID

When you get a new DROID device (MINI, ULTRA, MAXX) you didn’t just get a smartphone. It’s really five gifts in one:

1.     The Gift of Music – For a limited time, the purchase of one of the new DROID devices gets you six months of Google Play All Access Music at no additional charge. You can play millions of songs from your device and create customized stations — with no ads. Plug in headphones or connect the phone to your favorite speakers and you’re set. You’ll be the DJ at this year’s holiday parties.
2.     Less Pocket Clutter – Isis Mobile Wallet transforms your smartphone into a wallet and eliminates the need to carry credit cards, loyalty cards and special coupons. With a single tap, you can make a payment or redeem an offer at participating merchants. Leave your wallet at home.
3.     A Good Listener – Touchless controls let you speak to the smartphone and tell it what you want it to do, without tapping or touching. Saying “Ok Google Now” wakes it up, and then you can give it commands like “Play some <Artist name>” or “remind me to buy my sister a birthday present.”
4.     A 10 Megapixel Camera – Nobody wants to post blurry or dark pictures to Instagram or Twitter, because they won’t get many likes or retweets, not to mention people need to squint to see them. The 10-megapixel camera on the DROID devices can do the trick, even in low light conditions. Being able to turn on the camera app by just shaking the phone twice means less time fiddling to find the camera app and more time snapping photos.
5.     The Gift that Keeps on Giving – The latest version of Android—4.4 Kit Kat—is coming to the DROID devices. The new software update brings features such as full screen mode, color emoji support and an updated camera for enhanced images. The new software is being pushed out in phases. Customers who want to download the update can do so by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

HTC One max

The HTC One max is now available online and in stores for $299.99 with a new two-year activation. Verizon Edge is also available for eligible customers who want to upgrade. Fans of large screens now have a new choice to fulfill that need, the HTC One max with a 5.9-inch full HD display. Video fans can appreciate the large HD screen for their lifestyle. Apps like NFL Mobile and Netflix are a different experience when watching on a 5.9-inch full HD display and not having to hold the phone up and close to your face. And with HTC BoomSound, the two-front facing speakers can make users feel as though they have a home theater in their pockets.

Users will notice familiar features from the HTC One on the HTC One max plus a few new ones such as a fingerprint scanner. Many people check their phones numerous times a day, and sometimes it can be annoying having to enter a PIN or password each time. Swiping a finger is an easy and convenient way to unlock and use a phone. Apps can even be assigned to individual fingers as shortcuts; so, for example, the pointer finger can launch the messaging app and the index finger can launch the camera.

In today’s world, pockets and bags are filling up with devices. The One max can be the device that helps clear up some space by acting as a smartphone, tablet and mobile wallet. The smartphone is ISIS-ready and comes with an enhanced SIM card pre-installed so it can become a wallet and replace the need to carry credit cards, loyalty cards and other special offers. The ISIS Mobile Wallet app lets users pay with their phones and can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
