With the announcement of the Nokia Asha 308 and 309, Nokia Beta Labs introduced a web app called Nokia Nearby. Even on phones without GPS, Nokia Nearby helps you discover what’s around you, and it uses the same points of interest that you’ll find on other Nokia phones and on maps.nokia.com. Nokia Nearby for Series 40 was first introduced in a beta trial on Nokia Beta Labs, with the goal of the trial to understand the usability and usefulness of such an app. With the app now being distributed in Nokia Store for about 50 different Series 40 phone models in over 25 languages, Nokia Beta Labs Beta Labs is concluding the beta trial.
Nokia announced today that the Nokia Lumia 610, its most affordable Lumia smartphone, has begun rolling out inAsia. It will go on sale first in thePhilippinesin the final week of April, and inChina,Hong Kong,Indonesia,Malaysia,Singapore,TaiwanandVietnamin the following weeks. The Nokia Lumia 610 will also begin selling in other regions this quarter.
